||Hi Samantha. That's a smart question! But unfortunately no. By being 1/2 and 1/2,
beans don't really fulfill the role of either protein or grain. When you are in balance,
though, beans can work as a protein source occasionally- maybe once a week or
so. Nuts are good protein but again unfortunately, they are not balancing - they
don't support the adrenals which is what we are looking for in the protein. (neither
do beans). And nuts are quite rich. So they are condiments, not main courses.
